Esteemed delegates, chairs, advisors, and directors,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I welcome you to the fifth edition of ISHMUN, the International School of Ho Chi Minh City’s Model United Nations conference. As Secretary-General, it is an honour to lead this year’s Secretariat and build upon the foundation laid by those who have shaped ISHMUN before us. On January 16–17, 2027, we look forward to welcoming you for another chapter in the continued growth of our conference.

ISHMUN welcomes all, whether you are stepping into Model United Nations for the first time or returning as an experienced delegate. Our aim extends beyond teaching the mechanics of Model UN. We hope to foster an environment where delegates can challenge their perspectives, engage meaningfully with complex issues, and develop skills that remain valuable far beyond the committee room.

This year, we are excited to welcome more delegates, schools, and perspectives into our community. Such growth brings an opportunity to shape an ambitious and memorable conference, while continuing to strengthen the future of Model United Nations in Saigon.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to every delegate, chair, advisor, and director who makes ISHMUN possible. This conference is the result of countless hours of dedication from a team deeply invested in its success, and we are incredibly proud of what we have prepared for you.

We look forward to welcoming you in January and to creating the next chapter of ISHMUN together. Until then, our Secretariat will continue working to ensure that your experience is both challenging and enriching.

With best regards,
Lea Frey
Secretary-General, ISHMUN 2027
